Rosario Dawson has been cast as fan favorite character Ahsoka Tano in season 2 of Disney+’s popular live action Star Wars series “The Mandalorian.” The much-beloved character is the Jedi padawan former apprentice of Anakin Skywalker in two animated Star Wars series “The Clone Wars” and “Rebels.” She is voiced by Ashley Eckstein for all seven seasons of “The Clone Wars.”

Dawson expressed her eagerness to play Ahsoka back in 2017 when a fan asked her about it on Twitter. The actress responded “Ummmm… yes please?! #AhsokaLives #AhsokaTano #StarWars”

Disney+ plans to release season two of “The Mandalorian” this fall. Show creator Jon Favreau has also previously confirmed that Carl Weathers, who plays Greef Carga in “The Mandalorian,” will direct an episode of the second season. The first season ended with Pedro Pascal’s helmeted gunfighter and bounty hunter The Mandalorian/Din Djarian heading to find the home planet of The Child. The Child, more commonly referred to by the nickname Baby Yoda, is a member of the same species as Yoda and has become the show’s huge breakout star.

Jennifer Garner made a virtual appearance on Jimmy Fallon’s at-home taping of The Tonight Show on Thursday night and told the host that she was frustrated with her parents, William and Patricia, for refusing to stay home during the coronavirus epidemic.

“The hard thing are teens and early 20s people and my parents,” Garner said. “My parents are the hard ones. I’m like, ‘Dad, mom, the world is shut down to keep you safe.’ And they’re like, ‘We think we’re going to go to Sam’s Warehouse.’ Stay home, you have to stay home!”

“MY PARENTS ARE THE HARD ONES. I’M LIKE, ‘DAD, MOM, THE WORLD IS SHUT DOWN TO KEEP YOU SAFE.’ AND THEY’RE LIKE, ‘WE THINK WE’RE GOING TO GO TO SAM’S WAREHOUSE.’ STAY HOME, YOU HAVE TO STAY HOME!”

Garner’s comments echo similar frustrations expressed anecdotally by largely members of the millenial and Gen X generations that Gen Z and baby boobers were disproportionally ignoring the warnings and putting themselves at risk.

However, Garner said that her children, Violet, 14, Seraphina, 11, and Samuel, 8 have handled the quarantine well. She explained, “I think I have the perfect age kids for this because they’re big enough to understand and to have the conversations. ‘Like, we’re built for challenge, we can do this, we’re a tough team. Let’s learn about a vacuum cleaner.’ But they’re not so big that they’re just like, ‘Well I don’t care. I’m going to go.’'”

Kylie Jenner urged young people to take the coronavirus pandemic seriously after the U.S. Surgeon General Jerome Adams requested her help during an appearance on Good Morning America. Jenner shared an important message on her Insta Stories, emphasizing the importance of social distancing and self-quarantine.

“Hey guys, happy self-quarantine,” Jenner told her followers. “I know I’ve already been doing my daily reminders about how important it is right now to practice social distancing and self-quarantine. I’m going on my ninth day. The coronavirus is a real thing. I listened to the Surgeon General this morning, and even though I’ve already been doing my daily reminders, he definitely encouraged me to come on here and talk to you guys so you could see me and hear me.”

Jenner’s posts come at a time when it seemed that not enough Gen Z and Millennials were fully recognizing the danger posed by the virus. “Please stay inside you guys,” Jenner said. “Please stay inside, practice social distancing, self-quarantine. If you live with your parents, you don’t want to go home and get your parents sick. You might have it and not even know and be infecting other people. It’s serious and the only way that we’re going to slow this down is if we do this since there’s not a cure right now. Nobody is immune to this; millennials are not immune to this.”

    “PLEASE STAY INSIDE YOU GUYS”

The influencer’s message stands in sharp contrast to that of other celebrities including Vanessa Hudgens and Evangeline Lilly who have been criticized for callous remarks and spreading misinformation. Jenner also requested that other influencers use their platforms to spread the warning.

Wonder Woman star Gal Gadot’s attempt to raise spirits – as millions of people around the world are confined to their homes during the coronavirus pandemic –fell flat on Thursday. The actress posted a video compilation to Instagram of herself and twenty of her celebrity friends, including Kristen Wiig, Jimmy Fallon, Natalie Portman, Will Ferrell, Sia, Norah Jones and Chris O’Dowd, singing lines from John Lennon’s “Imagine.”

Gadot opened the video by saying, “Hey guys. Day six in self-quarantine. And I’ve got to say that these past few days got me feeling a bit philosophical, You know, this virus has affected the entire world, everyone – doesn’t matter who you are, where you are from, we are all in this together.”

Though well-intentioned, Gadot’s video was slammed on social media for being “tone-deaf” and “out of touch.” Many social media users left comments asking why the celebrities weren’t instead making donations to people who have been abruptly laid off during the global health crisis.

Even media outlets deemed the video cringeworthy. Vulture’s Chris Murphy wrote, “It’s obviously a nice gesture, but watching a bunch of über-rich celebrities muddle through a song in no discernible key is not exactly the quarantuning content that we currently crave at this juncture.”

“IT’S OBVIOUSLY A NICE GESTURE, BUT WATCHING A BUNCH OF ÜBER-RICH CELEBRITIES MUDDLE THROUGH A SONG IN NO DISCERNIBLE KEY IS NOT EXACTLY THE QUARANTUNING CONTENT THAT WE CURRENTLY CRAVE AT THIS JUNCTURE.”

CCN’s Simon Chandler published an op-ed titled, “I’d Rather Catch Coronavirus Than Watch Gal Gadot’s Imagine Cover Again.”

American Idol joined the growing list of television shows that are shutting down production as the nation faces the coronavirus pandemic. Staffers for the ABC singing competition are working to get contestants home to their families.

The show had already introduced new protocols and safety measures for its production staff amid the health crisis. New filming has been suspended and the rest of the staff members are now working remotely. American Idol fans will still be able to watch the show as episodes will continue to air as scheduled until the live shows, which are set to begin in April but may be post-poned.

In addition to American Idol, Grey’s Anatomy, the Ellen Degeneres Show and The Price is Right have all stopped production. Saturday Night Live is on an indefinite hiatus and all the major late night talk shows have ceased production, however on Wednesday, Jimmy Fallon, Jimmy Kimmel and Stephen Colbert began shooting their shows from the safety of their homes.

Stoned Seth Rogen Live Tweeted The Cats Movie

Seth Rogen’s Twitter followers were taken on a hilarious ride Tuesday night when the actor live Tweeted the Cats movie while high. Rogen was clearly confused and alarmed by the quirky film, which flopped at the box office and has a Rotten Tomatoes score of just 20%. The actor decided to watch Cats for the first time while under self-quarantine during the coronavirus pandemic.

Rogen kicked off a string of baffled tweets by tweeting, “I’m pretty stoned and watching Cats. I’ve never seen the Broadway show. It is truly trippy. Am I supposed to know what a Jellicle is? They’ve said it 200,000 times but I don’t know what’s happening haha.”

The actor couldn’t seem to wrap his mind around some of the strange choices made by the production team. Rogen tweeted, “Also the scale is bizarre. The behind the scenes features, which are amazing, said the set is 2.5 times scale but that would mean cats are like 60 pounds in real life!”

The wardrobe department didn’t get a pass either. “Judi Dench is in a cat fur coat which I can only assume is socially APPALLING in this world.” Rogen continued, “Some cats in pants. Some no pants.”

Vanessa Hudgens has issued an apology after receiving a massive backlash on social media when she appeared to dismiss the severity of the coronavirus pandemic during an Instagram Live video. The High School Musical actress told her followers that she believed official estimates that the pandemic might last until July was “a bunch of bulls***.”
Hutchens said, “It’s a virus, I get it. Like, I respect it. But at the same time, like, even if everybody gets it, like, yeah, people are gonna die, which is terrible but, like, inevitable?”
Hutchens’ comments were met with swift and severe condemnation on social media. The Center for Disease Control has the urged the public to stay home and practice social distancing to avoid spreading the coronavirus. San Francisco residents are under a mandatory order to shelter in place.

The actress seemed to recognize her error and posted an Instagram story in which she said, “I realized some of my comments are being taken out of context. It’s a crazy time. It’s a crazy, crazy time and I am at home and in lockdown, and I hope that’s what you guys are doing too, in full quarantine and staying safe and sane. Yeah, don’t take this situation lightly — by any means.”

Hudgens wrote on Twitter that she was sorry for offending anyone and everyone who saw her Instagram Live.
