On Sunday Kanye West held a rally for his presidential campaign in South Carolina. The rap and fashion icon went on an unhinged rant that blew up the internet. We never expected this campaign to be normal, in fact most people were expecting some sort of genius artistic statement that West traditionally blesses us with, but what transpired on Sunday may have instead been a front row seat to a man who needs to see a professional.
The rally had many head turning moments, but perhaps none more than when Kanye claimed “Harriet Tubman never actually freed the slaves.” This crazy statement had the crowd offended, perplexed and stunned. Kanye you may remember had also stated that “slavery was a choice.” Wearing a MAGA hat and becoming friends with Donald Trump didn’t help his PR either.
Kanye has always been a champion for African American rights in his music and public statements, that it makes these recent outbursts seem like more than ignorance. It seems like he is lost or has evolved into something that he isn’t. According to E! News Kanye’s friends and family are very concerned about him and his health, but Kanye isn’t listening to anyone but himself.
The source also said that his wife Kim Kardashian is very hurt and upset by Kanye’s rant. In the middle of his speech Kanye broke down in tears when talking about abortion and how his dad wanted him aborted and that would mean there would be no Kanye West. He then went on to say that Kim wanted to abort their child North but he didn’t want that. West claims he would make abortion legal but offer $1 million to every mother that decided to keep the baby. Insane policy aside, Kim is angered about having to explain this to North when she grows up.
In his last album, “Ye”, Kanye boldly stated that his bipolar diagnosis is his super power. Kanye has always publicly and proudly loved himself. It’s probably why we love him too. We all wish we had an iota of his dragon energy. But he may be blinded by his own light that he shines on the world and needs something to change before he ruins his legacy, relationships and all the beautiful dark twisted music he has yet to put out.
