President Donald Trump had some words for comedian Sasha Baron Cohen after the release of “Borat 2” now streaming on Amazon Prime. The movie received some viral headlines after a scene featuring Rudy Giuliani hitting on an actress playing a young female reporter in a hotel room was leaked and had millions of people talking about it.
Reporter Steve Herman was on Air Force One and asked the commander in chief for his opinion on the film and President Trump replied by saying “To me, he’s a creep,” he said of Sacha, adding, “I don’t know what happened. But years ago, you know, he [Sacha] tried to scam me and I was the only one who said no way. That’s a phony guy and I don’t find him funny.”
Sasha Baron Cohen responded on Twitter by writing, “Donald—I appreciate the free publicity for Borat! I admit, I don’t find you funny either. But yet the whole world laughs at you,” he wrote in the Tweet below. “I’m always looking for people to play racist buffoons, and you’ll need a job after Jan. 20. Let’s talk!”
A job offer?! That’s nice! Rudy Giuliani has tweeted that this stunt was completely made up. “The Borat video is a complete fabrication. I was tucking in my shirt after taking off the recording equipment,” Rudy tweeted. “At no time before, during, or after the interview was I ever inappropriate. If Sacha Baron Cohen implies otherwise, he is a stone-cold liar. … As soon as I realized it was a set up, I called the police, which has been noted in [The Hollywood Reporter] article on July 8th.”
